Dr. Ramachandra N Galla is the Chairman of Rajanna Foundation and Founder Chairman of Amara Raja Group which he built from grassroots levels over the last 30+ years. He is an electrical engineer by profession and has a Master’s degree in System Sciences at Michigan State University USA in 1968. He has worked briefly for US Steel Corporation, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA, and later joined Sargent & Lundy in 1971. He worked in various capacities until 1985 before he turned a full-time entrepreneur and founded the Amara Raja Group.

Born in a modest farmer family in a remote village of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Galla has experimented with a brave approach of establishing advanced manufacturing facilities in rural villages thus creating non-migratory job opportunities for local youth while improving the rural infrastructure.

He has promoted and established many business ventures spanning automotive components, industrial batteries, power electronics, engineering precision products, food, and infrastructure. The group has established state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and has employed more than 16,000 people directly with many more indirect employment opportunities being created in rural society.

Dr. Galla's mission statement has always been to transform our increasing spheres of influence and to improve the quality of life by building institutions that provide better access to better opportunities to more people... all the time. True to his mission statement and his interest in the social uplift of people, Dr. Galla has initiated various CSR activities in the areas related to Quality education, for rural children, health care, rural infrastructure development environment skilling rural youth.

He was conferred Honorary Doctorate by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in 2007 and later by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in 2008 and has also received many awards for his entrepreneurial efforts and contribution to the social cause.

Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla is the Founder of Amara Raja Group and Director of Rajanna Foundation and has led the foundation since its beginning. Her father, P. Rajagopala Naidu, was a former Indian parliamentarian and social activist and following his footsteps, she is also a grassroots leader and politician since 1985. Her main focus has been on development work and putting government policies into action, especially for farmers and women.

She got elected as MLA from the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh during 1989-1994, 1999-2004, and 2004-2014. She served as the Minister for Geology and Mines in the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Ministry for Roads and Buildings during the second term of the Congress government

Smt. Galla’s husband, Dr. Ramachandra N Galla, is the Founder Chairman of the Amara Raja Group, a company with revenues exceeding $1.75 billion and employing over 16,000 people. Her son, Mr. Jayadev Galla, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Amara Raja Batteries. Her daughter, Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni, founded Amara Hospital.

Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni serves as Director of the Rajanna Foundation and is the Co-Founder of Amara Raja Group and concurrently holds the position of Managing Director at Amara Hospital. Her father is Dr. Ramachandra N Galla, the Founder Chairman of the $1.75 billion Amara Raja Group, and her mother Is Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla, Director of Rajanna Foundation, Founder of Amara Raja Group, politician, and philanthropist.

Dr. Ramadevi's formative years were spent in the United States, and she returned to India in 1982 to pursue her medical education. After successfully completing her MBBS in 1989, she furthered her medical training at the Neurology University of Illinois. Her journey led her to complete her residency and subsequently earn a fellowship in Sleep Medicine from Northwestern University in Chicago. During her time there, she worked as an Associate Professor of Neurology and took on the role of Director of Neurology Medical Student Education. With more than two decades of experience in the United States, Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni gained extensive expertise in managing sleep-related health conditions.

In 2016, Dr. Ramadevi transitioned back to India and since then has been a driving force behind numerous initiatives at Amara Hospital. Renowned for being a comprehensive multi-specialty institution, Amara Hospital in Tirupati offers holistic healthcare solutions that encompass both Primary and Specialty care. These services are delivered in line with international standards and are made accessible at affordable rates. Dr. Ramadevi's commitment extends beyond the hospital's walls, as she has been actively involved in advancing various programs under the aegis of the Rajanna Foundation.

By leveraging her wealth of experience and expertise, Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni has played an instrumental role in enhancing healthcare services and community welfare.

Sri Jayadev Galla is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Amara Raja Group. Before joining the Company in 1992, he served as an International Sales Executive, at GNB Battery Technologies, Inc., USA (now part of Exide Technologies, Inc., USA).

He joined the group in 1992 and established the Marketing, Sales, and Service functions at the company during this time. He was instrumental in introducing the then-new VRLA technology batteries for Telecom and Railway applications, which was a revolutionary change from the black, leaky flooded batteries that were commonly used at that time. He was determined to change the face of lead acid battery industry in the country and pioneered the zero-maintenance automotive battery segment with the launch of Amaron, which is today the most loved brand not just in India but most of South East Asia and the Middle East.

Thwarting competition from big, established players, Sri Jayadev Galla took the Amaron brand to newer heights and over the years it has become the preferred brand for OEMs and is the leader in the segment. He also supported expansion of the group’s presence across other verticals like Infrastructure, Electronics, Food Processing, Auto Components, etc.

He is a member of the World Economic Forum, representing the Amara Raja Group, and serves as a Governor of the Electricity Industry and Principal of the Global Battery Alliance.

He is currently a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), having been elected for a second term from Guntur in 2019. He has been a member of various Parliamentary Standing Committees including Defence, Commerce, External Affairs, and Consultative Committees on Power, New & Renewable Energy to name a few. Sri Jayadev Galla is also a Member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), National Council, Young Indian National Governing Council & Core Group, Young Presidents Organisation, Hyderabad Chapter, and also an External Member of the Board of Management Studies (PG) in Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He was also the past Chairman of CII, Andhra Pradesh State Council.

He won the Best CEO Award by Business Today in 2015 and also received the Most Promising Company of the Year Award by CNBC at the Indian Business Leadership Awards in 2017. Amara Raja has been listed amongst Forbes’ global best employers and consistently wins manufacturing excellence awards. Sri Jayadev Galla holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA.

Sri. Jaikrishna B is the President - Group HR of the Amara Raja Group and a core member of the Apex Leadership & Decision Council of the Group. Chairman of Group Ethics Ombudsman. He is a graduate in Economics and a first-rank holder in post-graduation in Social Work (with a specialisation in Personnel Management) from the Madras School of Social Work-University of Madras. He’s also certified in Family Business Advising (CFBA) from the Family Firm Institute, Boston, USA. Before Joining Amara Raja, he was with C K Birla Group as their General Manager of Group Corporate HR.

Jaikrishna (JK) has held various positions like Chairman of EFSI – AP & Telangana, Member of the AP Govt. Labour Advisory Board, and also in CII, as Chair of HR Committee of Southern Region, HR Committee at AP, Co-chair for Skills committee of CII Southern Region, Member of CSR Sub Committee of CII Southern Region. Member of the National panel on Leadership & HR and so on. He’s now serving as a member of the CII National Task Force on Affirmative Action.

JK has been the recipient of various awards like ‘Pride of the Industry Award’, ‘HR Leadership Award’. CHRO ASIA, and was also listed amongst one of the ‘100 Most Talented Global HR Leaders’, and ‘Most Influential HR leaders’ by CHRO Asia. JK is passionate and invests considerable time in the areas of Organisation Culture, Performance Management and leadership development. He is a fond lover of Arts & cultural activities. Dr. Vishnu Vardhan has a PhD in Social Sciences and is TATA GeMs Certified. He has more than 20+ years of experience in various capacities as a CEO, Fundraiser, Researcher, Grant Manager, Business Development Consultant, and Information/Project Architect. Before venturing out as an Entrepreneur, Dr. Vishnu was the CEO of NTR Trust.

Before joining NTR Trust, he was with the Centre for Internet and Society where he led the growth of Indian language Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects as part of a catalyst grant from the Wikimedia Foundation (USA). He has worked at Tata Trusts for close to a decade and has expertise in B2G & B2B Business Development, Project conceptualization, Management, Assessment of Quality and Impact, Outreach, and Creating Robust Networks.

Dr. Vishnu managed more than 30 projects & funds to the tune of Rs. 2.8 Billion. Mobilized more than Rs. 5.5 Billion as funds towards investments into projects, start-ups, companies, JVs, SPVs, and non-profits. He also serves on the Governing Boards of some not-for-profit entities across India. Vishnu has been interfacing and partnering with various Governments and government entities for close to two decades. As an Entrepreneur, he has so far captured orders worth Rs. 3.2+ Billion, predominantly in the B2G business domain. He is deeply passionate about Digital Technologies, Digital Futures, Impact & SDGs and has positively impacted the lives of more than 12 million people so far through his work.
